The 2012 Symposium will take place in the beautiful capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, and will involve the engagement of an international contingent of invited speakers, presenters, and delegates.

2012 Call for Abstracts

The Symposium is open to occupational therapists and occupational therapy students who are interested in implementation of occupation-focused assessments and occupationbased interventions, as well as documenting and otherwise communicating the results of occupational therapy services. We also welcome the participation of other healthcare providers, health administrators and/or researchers who are interested in learning more about interventions and outcome evaluations related to promoting activity and participation in daily life.

The 2012 International AMPS Symposium will offer delegates the opportunity to critically explore areas of practice related to implementing, evaluating and documenting occupation-based programs and client-centred occupational therapy. More specifically, the symposium will address evidence-based knowledge related to:

• Evidence to support client-centred and occupation-focused assessment — presentations related to evidence that supports the validity, reliability and utility of client-centred and occupation-based assessments such as the Assessment of Motor and Process Skills (AMPS), School Version of the AMPS and the Evaluation of Social Interaction (ESI) as well as other occupation-focused instruments (e.g., Canadian Occupational Performance Measure).
• Evidence to support theory-based practice — presentations related to evidence that supports occupational therapy programs that are guided by occupational therapy models of practice such as the Occupational Therapy Intervention Process Model (OTIPM), the Model of Human Occupation (MoHO) or the Canadian Practice Process Framework (CPPF).
• Evidence to support client-centred and occupation-based interventions — presentations related to evidence that supports the implementation of clientcentred and occupation-based occupational therapy interventions.
